# Multi-cloud deployment

Multi-cloud deployment runs a platform across several cloud providers at the same time, for example AWS with Azure, or Azure with GCP, so no single provider outage, jurisdictional decision, or commercial dispute can interrupt operations. It is the structural answer to cloud concentration risk.

## Concentration risk and the single-cloud SaaS problem

With single-cloud SaaS, a bank inherits its vendor's cloud concentration risk and cannot remediate it, a dependency DORA explicitly scrutinizes. True multi-cloud means the platform operates across providers simultaneously, not that it could theoretically be reinstalled elsewhere.

Taurus has been cloud-agnostic and multi-cloud since 2019, able to deploy in any cloud, single or multi-region, and to run across multiple providers at once to reduce geopolitical and vendor risk, alongside on-premises and hybrid options.

FAQ:

- Why does multi-cloud matter to a regulator? Operational resilience: a bank must show its critical services survive a provider failure and that exit is credible. Running across providers demonstrates both, while single-cloud dependence concentrates exactly the risk DORA targets.
