Paxos, one of the leading regulated stablecoin issuers, has partnered with Taurus to bring Global Dollar (USDG) issuance and redemption to Taurus-NETWORK, the interbank network connecting financial institutions, issuers, and liquidity providers. Financial institutions connected to the network can now mint and burn USDG with Paxos directly from their existing Taurus custody infrastructure.
Mint and burn USDG from Taurus-NETWORK
Taurus clients can now request USDG issuance and redemption with Paxos without leaving their custody environment. Newly minted USDG settles into the client's Taurus wallets; on redemption, USDG is burned and US dollars are returned.
Every mint and burn runs through the governance framework clients already use: their approval workflows, policy rules, and key management. No additional wallet, intermediary venue, or separate operational stack is required.
About Taurus-NETWORK
Launched in April 2025, Taurus-NETWORK is Taurus' institutional interbank settlement and collateral management platform, connecting banks, financial institutions, issuers, and liquidity providers.
The network allows participating institutions to transact directly with one another, settle digital asset transactions, manage collateral, and access liquidity and financing services while maintaining control over their assets.
It also serves as a distribution channel for issuers, connecting them with financial institutions already using Taurus-PROTECT and expanding the range of digital assets and services available to those institutions.
Through its partnership with Paxos, Taurus-NETWORK now brings USDG issuance and redemption capabilities to participating institutions.
Taurus-NETWORK is a bank network and distribution platform connecting financial institutions, issuers, and liquidity providers. For issuers, it is a direct route to institutions already operating regulated custody on Taurus-PROTECT. For those institutions, each new issuer is one more digital asset they can access through infrastructure they already run.
We are regularly adding issuers to the network.
Supporting institutional adoption of USDG
USDG is a US dollar stablecoin designed for regulated institutions, backed 1:1 by US dollar deposits, short-term US government securities, and cash equivalents. It is issued by Paxos Digital Singapore Pte. Ltd., licensed and supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Paxos Issuance Europe Oy, an electronic money institution supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA).
For many institutions, the barrier to stablecoin use is not the asset but the access: onboarding, connectivity, and operational control.
Through Taurus-NETWORK, Paxos can make USDG available to financial institutions through their established custody and governance frameworks, reducing the need for additional technical integrations.
Through this partnership, Taurus and Paxos aim to support the institutional adoption of USDG across Taurus' clients, including corporate and investment banks, private banks, asset managers, broker-dealers, custodians, and crypto banks.
Looking ahead
Minting and burning are the first steps. Taurus and Paxos expect to extend their collaboration further in the coming months.
"Every issuer we add makes Taurus-NETWORK more useful for the financial institutions connected to it. Paxos brings a regulated dollar stablecoin and a strong track record in issuance. Together, we want to make USDG a practical choice for institutional clients," said Clémentine Drouot, Head of Taurus-NETWORK Partnerships.
"Our goal is to meet institutional demand for USDG where they are today and where they're going tomorrow. Partnering with Taurus brings it to a network of banks and financial institutions across Europe and beyond, and we’re excited to grow that reach together," said Guillaume Kendall, EU Growth Lead at Paxos.
