Geneva, Zurich, 30.05.2024—Following its strategic collaboration with the DFINITY Foundation announced on 26 September 2023, Taurus is pleased to announce it has successfully integrated Internet Computer’s native token, ICP, and its staking capabilities into Taurus-PROTECT, Taurus’ digital asset custody platform. This is the most advanced ICP integration in the world to date, allowing financial institutions to provide proper access to ICP native tokens to their clients. 

The Internet Computer is a fully decentralized, third-generation blockchain and crypto cloud infrastructure. The ICP network is made up of node providers hosted in independent data centers around the world. Since the network went live in May 2021, the Internet Computer has experienced zero downtime, and total transactions processed per day increased from 95M in 2022 to 490M in 2023, representing a 415% increase YoY. 

Taurus’ banking partners will be able to propose ICP tokens to their clients with immediate effect. Taurus’ product and engineering team has built features that allow financial institutions to leverage all ICP staking mechanisms, including the most advanced ones, in a simple and streamlined manner. 

DFINITY and Taurus are also pleased to announce that several Taurus partners, such as Bank Syz, AMINA Bank, and Capital Union Bank, will be able to start offering ICP tokens to their end clients.
