Post-quantum security
Cryptographic agility
Also known as: crypto agility
Cryptographic agility is the ability to replace cryptographic algorithms in a system without redesigning it: keys, APIs, storage formats, and protocols are built so new schemes, such as post-quantum signatures, can be adopted the moment they are needed. It is the core insurance policy for the quantum transition.
What makes a custody platform crypto-agile
Algorithm choices isolated behind interfaces, key derivation and signing modules that accommodate new signature families, hardware that supports them, and policies that already name the successor algorithms. Without agility, migration means re-platforming under deadline pressure.
Taurus-PROTECT is crypto-agile by design: its API, key-derivation logic, and signing modules can accommodate post-quantum signatures and hybrid key encapsulation as blockchains adopt them, on an HSM foundation that supports every PQ signature family.
