Compliance and deployment

Sovereign deployment

Sovereign deployment runs the entire custody stack, policy engine, transaction processing, and application, inside a chosen jurisdiction or inside the bank's own infrastructure, so no critical function or key material depends on foreign or vendor-controlled systems. Several regulators now require it explicitly.

Where regulation requires the full stack in-country

Turkiye requires the custody infrastructure deployed domestically alongside at least 95 percent of client assets in cold storage; Hong Kong requires HSMs and seeds in Hong Kong with at least 98 percent of client virtual assets in air-gapped cold wallets. Vendor-hosted-only architectures cannot satisfy such regimes.

Taurus supports full sovereign deployment and operates it in production, with about one in four Taurus client institutions running the platform on-premises.

Sovereign deployment, explained

Is sovereign deployment only about data residency?
No, residency moves data; sovereignty moves control. The test is whether custody keeps operating, and keys stay controlled, even if every foreign or vendor dependency disappears.
