Geneva, Switzerland, 29 October 2026 – Taurus, a global leader in digital asset infrastructure, announced live support for smart contract-based assets on the Stellar network through Taurus-PROTECT, its institutional custody platform, and Taurus-CAPITAL, its tokenization platform.
Banks and financial institutions can now custody, issue, and manage Soroban-based assets through both Taurus user interfaces and APIs, with the corresponding capabilities available to Taurus clients for Ethereum-based assets.
The announcement marks the next step in Taurus’ work on the Stellar network. In 2024, Taurus made Taurus-PROTECT and Taurus-CAPITAL available on the Stellar network, bringing institutional custody and asset issuance capabilities to the network. In 2025, Taurus, the Stellar Development Foundation, and Turbo Energy announced an initiative to tokenize financing for renewable energy projects on the Stellar network using Taurus-CAPITAL.
The latest release extends these capabilities to Stellar’s Soroban smart contract environment.
With Taurus-PROTECT, clients can custody and manage Soroban-based tokens on the Stellar network, including wallet support and the governance and operational controls available across the Taurus platform.
With Taurus-CAPITAL, clients can issue and manage smart contract-based assets on the Stellar network throughout their lifecycle. The platform supports token issuance, smart contract function calls, and parameter handling across key Stellar network token models and standards, including SEP-41 contract tokens, Stellar Asset Contracts (SAC), OpenZeppelin contracts, and ERC-3643-based assets designed for regulated use cases on the Stellar network, also known as SEP-57.
Taurus-CAPITAL can also support issuer-specific ERC-3643-derived contracts and other custom real-world asset structures, giving institutions flexibility in how they structure tokenized securities, funds, and other financial instruments on the Stellar network.
“Financial institutions want to choose the blockchain and asset structure that best fits their use case without changing the infrastructure and controls around it,” said Lamine Brahimi, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Taurus. “We first brought Taurus-PROTECT and Taurus-CAPITAL to the Stellar network. With Soroban support, our clients can now custody, issue, and manage smart contract-based assets on the Stellar network through the same Taurus infrastructure they use across other major networks.”
For banks and financial institutions, this expands the range of assets and structures they can support on the Stellar network, from standardized token models to custom smart contracts designed around specific asset, regulatory, or operational requirements.
"Institutions want to use the custody and issuance tools they already rely on when they move to a new network," said Raja Chakravorti, Chief Business Officer at the Stellar Development Foundation. "Taurus adding Soroban support gives its clients more ways to issue and manage securities, funds, and real-world assets on the Stellar network, including through standards like SEP-57."

About the Stellar Network
The Stellar network is a decentralized, fast, and scalable blockchain built for financial products and services. It enables smart contracts and supports issuing, managing, and moving real-world regulated assets at institutional scale.
Assets can be fully decentralized or configured for KYC, clawbacks, and sanctions compliance. Franklin Templeton runs a tokenized money market fund on Stellar, and MoneyGram moves money across it daily.
Open means no vendor lock-in. Configurable means enterprise-ready. The Stellar network has been servicing payments and financial use cases since 2014.
